Review: Istanbul Conference and Project Meeting

After the kickoff meeting in Hamburg in the beginning of summer, the first RENET conference including a regular project meeting took place from 16-17 October 2008 in Instanbul/Turkey. Under the theme “Renewable Energy – Turkish and European Perspectives”, project members from all four partners and several Turkish guests participated in this first joint event.
Successful RENET Kickoff in Hamburg
The project kick-off meeting took place in Hamburg on 2-3 June 2008. Hosted by Haw Hamburg, the meeting was attended by members from Bogaziçi University, Akdeniz Üniversitesi, Royal Institute of Technology (KTH). The project work program and schedule were discussed and next steps were agreed. The participants also visited HAW Hamburg’s solar energy plant which is used for teaching purposes and will be extended towards a solar cooling system.
